Managing Power Differentials in Online Mediation

JULY 28, 2023

12:00-2:00pm (PST)

Although COVID is less severe than it once was and the world is returning to in-person activities, it appears that online mediation is here to stay. In this two-hour live course, MTC instructors Melissa Mangiaracina and Margaret Crowley walk through the unique power imbalances that arise in the online mediation setting, including accessibility issues, domestic violence, and others, to help mediators understand and prepare for managing these power imbalances to provide a more meaningful mediation experience.

What you'll get:

  • Interactive live instruction via zoom
  • MTC's checklist for managing power differentials online
  • 2 CLE credits*

*MTC is an accredited CLE provider in Nevada and will provide CLE credits to all Nevada participants. Participants from other jurisdictions will receive a certificate of completion to submit to their own governing bodies.

What People Are Saying:

As the legal educators' co-chair of the ABA DR spring conference, thanks for presenting on post-covid online mediation power differentials, as it was extremely helpful for my mediation practice, my court mediation roles and my campus ombuds role. Perhaps the most personally beneficial session!
